Hi, I'm Derek Singer
I did not set out to start an agency. I set out to help my wife build her tutoring business online.
Haseeba is a maths tutor in Scotland with a real gift for helping students who had struggled elsewhere, especially at National 5, Higher, and Advanced Higher. But like many tutors, she knew the teaching side inside out and had no interest in wrestling with websites, systems, and digital tools.
So I stepped in. I have a first-class degree in Computing from RGU, I am a Microsoft Certified Professional, and I have more than 20 years of IT experience. I also completed Google's Digital Marketing and E-commerce certificate because I wanted current, practical marketing knowledge rather than just technical skill.
I built her a stronger online presence: a professional website, clearer messaging, and a better path from first visit to enquiry. That project became Mrs J Maths Tutor.
In the following academic year, she was fully booked by the end of August. That experience showed me that most tutors do not need more complexity. They need a clearer, more effective route from first impression to enquiry.
That is what Tech for Tutors is built around: simple online systems that help good tutors look as good online as they are in real life.
